Reminiscent

So after some random web surfing I stumbled upon an instructional blog for filmmaking that was created in the form of a Xanga, and it got me thinking……

What ever happened to Xanga? Did I ever have one? Do/did I know others with one?

So I did a little looking. Turns out TONS of people have or have had Xanga’s, and a good amount still actively update them. Xanga, which I thought had left society along with middle school, MySpace (for the most part) and AOL Instant Messenger is still alive and kicking; if a little unused.

Basically, here I am, looking at miniature blog posts from different parts of the lives I people I know or have known. Interesting to see how people change.

One more thing….

Despite being uber-excited about the Vimeo account, I’m also working on a fully-functional personal page to accompany this blog in all its glory.

ADV304 already has me making one for a grade - which I need to stop sleazing with my group on, but I digress - and so I figured now is as good a time as ever to start the design/coding train back at full steam. Check the tentative design…image

I know, I know, it’s a bit of a throwback to my MySpace days of design, what with the polaroids and the wood grain; but I like the noveau look of the water color brush strokes, and I like how 80’s and artistic it looks. I dunno, but I think this might be my best design yet. Yes, better than VoteStettler.

That thought alone scares the living Christ out of me.

Turkey Day in Dallas

Well, I’m back in Dallas for Thanksgiving, and it’s been fun but overall pretty tepid. Most of the family let for Arkansas, so no aunts/cousins/uncles/family friends were here for dinner, just the nuclear family. Hell, it wasn’t even that, given that Will left for Arkansas either way. Ah, whatever, I’m sure he’s having a great time.image

That being said, despite my insane amount of schoolwork and pending exams– which are jeopardizing my passing two classes– I think this holiday weekend should be fun. Black Friday is in just a few hours, we’ll see how that turns out, I suppose.

Oh yeah, and me and Josh are supposed to make a movie on the HV20. That might not end up happening, but, like everything else, we’ll have to see how it all turns out.

I don’t really have anything else to say, so here’s a picture of Alessandra Ambrosio. I used to think she was the hottest thing when I was like 14, now I find her kind of average as far as ’supermodel status’ goes. Heidi Klum is twice her age and I think she still has it. I dunno, I’m rambling; here’s the picture…. (click to enlarge)

Blah, this spaces everything correctly.

Back in the Cliff

image

Hey, folks, I’m back in Dallas for the time being (not with ZBT for the TX/OU festivities, regrettably) but tomorrow I’m headed to go camping with the family. In other news, however, I’m skipping class on Monday to stick in D-town and film a music video for the Highland Park-based band, Stanhope.

If you wanna chill this weekend, hit me up on the cell or on the Facebook.

I smell sex and candy in here.

Just got reminded of this song by Marcy Playground. Yes, the music video is weird and sucks. And yes, they’re a one-hit wonder. But the song is pretty decent, check it out below.

On another note, one of the related videos to a Mis-Teeq video I just stumbled upon is a pretty sexilicious montage of Jessica Alba, so I’ll post that up as well. Checks it out below….

Let the Blogging Begin….

Well, while I know this may seem a bit weird, I’ve decided to start up a blog of my life here in Austin and, more importantly, what’s going on with the films/art/design stuff I’m up to lately. I can’t imagine it would be a huge deal at the moment, but for now I think it’s safe to start this blog.

Anyhow, I suppose this is an okay place to end this sort of ‘test’ of a blog entry. I’m just now figuring out how to integrate Windows Writer with my ftp, so it may take some getting used to.
